The World Championship Ironman Triathlon Returns to Kailua Kona!

The beauty of the Big Island of Hawaii extends to much more than the natural landscape; the beauty includes all of the incredible things and events that call the Big Island home!

 

One incredible event that has captivated the world for decades is the World Championship Ironman Triathlon held along the Kona coastline. The “Ironman” itself is a true test of the world’s greatest triathletes that spend countless time training to endure one of the world’s toughest terrains in heat, humidity, and wind.

 

The Ironman has grown into a much larger even than it its novice run many years ago and it is always an exciting event for the community organizations and groups to be involved in. The facade of the Gold Coast of Kona changes for this triathlon as the enduring mileage for the swim, run and bike races are extensive, stretching long beyond the Kailua Kona area.

 

HDG is excited to see one of our island’s largest events return after a pause during the pandemic and this is an exciting time to prepare ourselves for the Ironman.
